Various Ways You Could Get Involved

A Variety of Ways You Could Get Involved:

Very little training is needed for the next 5 areas.

1. E-mail Prayer Chain - If you have e-mail and not a lot of time this might interest you. Just as the Navy will bombard an enemy position before the Marines go in for the invasion, you will receive specific coordinates (through e-mail) concerning how to send up a one-time barrage of prayer just before a church planter or team undertakes a particular mission. Then you will receive quick feedback on the results concerning what God did. Besides furthering God’s Kingdom, God will also expand your heart and vision through this investment in prayer with Him.

2. Short-Term Church Planting Mission Trips - If you are interested in being exposed firsthand to church planters and their new churches, a weekend or one-week missions trip might be for you. Watch out! You might come back with a “church planting virus."

3. Church Plant Partnership Team - If you are the communicative type, you might enjoy being a part of this team whose main purpose is to keep the rest of our church informed about what God is doing in and through our daughter churches. We probably have specialists in our congregation with marketing, accounting, graphic design, software, etc. expertise that could be used to a church plant. The Partnership Team will help network these people with the needs.

4. Preview Service Involvement - As we get ready to launch new daughter churches, our daughter churches will need nursery, Sunday school, and worship team helpers/trainers to serve three or four times at their monthly preview services.

5. Laser Support Team - This team would travel on a weekend to different cities to work with a trained point person in researching and discovering pockets of people interested in being a part of a new church plant in their area.

More extensive training is needed for the opportunities below.

6. Church Planter Assessment Team - With some training, you could work on periodic weekends with an assessment team to help assess the readiness of potential church planters and their spouses. The training would involve self-study materials on church planting, a training conference on assessing church planters and on the job training with experts in the field.

7. Church Planter Coaching - With some training, you could provide prayer, friendship, encouragement, an objective perspective, and some resourcing to a local church planter as you meet monthly. The training involved would be the following: self-study materials & conferences on church planting & coaching, on the job training with a convenor, and extra reading.

8. Apostolic Team to help church planters & their core groups - This team would work alongside a church planter and his core group for several months to help them launch a new church. After that they would pull back, take a break and several months later help another church be started. Some general training concerning church planting would be necessary.

9. Church Planter - Just because you do not have a seminary degree, it does not mean that God could not use you to catalyze a new church in your neighborhood. Your readiness for church planting could be assessed during a weekend assessment. Then you could receive a week of intensive training at a church planter boot camp with your coach. After that, a local convenor could take you and your core group through on the job training during the church’s pregnancy stage.

10. Other more technical help is needed and will be listed on the Asian American Church Consulting web site soon.

Feel free to circle the numbers of any opportunities that you are interested in. If you will write your name and phone number below and then give, mail, or fax this sheet back to Robert, he will be glad to contact you.
